we have found that one of the best ways to get new members is to have people
come over to our club and give lawn bowling a try.
So, we have
set up a Free Lesson program.
Come and be
surprised at just how simple it is to catch on to the fundamentals of this
great outdoor sport. You can learn all of the basics in just one
hour-long lesson. And best of all there is no charge for the lesson
and no one will be high pressuring you to join.
We provide
all of the equipment needed to play the game. Dress is comfortable
casual and all we request is that you wear a pair of flat soled shoes.
During your
first lesson an expert coach will explain how the game is played and demonstrate
the fundamentals of bowling on the grass. Very quickly you will be
bowling and the coach will work with you step-by-step as you become accustomed
to the feel of the sport. He will advise you on the stance and bowling
techniques. He will watch you as you bowl and provide tips on how
to improve. During your first lesson you will play several “ends”
and become familiar with how the game is scored. This first lesson
should last just about an hour or if you are really in to it, perhaps a
bit longer.
If after your
lesson you are all fired-up about lawn bowling, but want to spend a little
more time with it before you decide to go for it, you should schedule another
lesson. The second session will be a refresher of the first with
a little more attention to technique.

MacKenzie Park Lawn Bowls Club
is located in the upper level of Mackenzie Park. The entrance from
Los Positas Road is directly across from McCaw Avenue. A second entrance
is available from Samarkand Drive.
